Simulated Crawling Robot controlled via NeuroEvolution of Augmenting Topologies (NEAT)
Tutorial Description
In order to test out many different learning algorithms it was suggested I create a simulator for my robot. I created the simulator and augmented a version of NEAT which I found for MATLAB. NEAT is a genetic algorithm which evolves neural networks. It is really cool and looks to also be really powerful. The original paper can be found here: http://nn.cs.utexas.edu/pub-view.php?PubID=122 Also for more information on my project be sure to check out: http://wikis.swarthmore.edu/ECE90/index.php/Velez2009 It will probably take me two days or so to update it for the simulator and stuff IĆ¢€™ve done with NEAT

Matlab Motorsport Mashup - Video

Matlab Motorsport Mashup
Tutorial Description
From Jason LaPenta(The5) in the Motorsport http://motorsport-sim.org forums "Ive been working on an XML-RPC interface for Motorsport. This would allow independant program (not necessarly running on the same machine) control motorsport. Im mostly interested in using motorsport as a visual simulator, on which I can test vision algorithms in MATLAB. Here is a quick movie to show two cars being controlled by matlab. in "simulation" time... MATLAB imports screen shots from multiple cameras on the vehicle, performs segmentation and extraction, then dumps that data into a control loop which sets the steering, brake, accelerator, and soon the gear."
